Baan Bang Phlap, Bang Kon sub district, Samut Songkram province is 71 km’s from Bangkok and 20 minutes from Amphur Wa market. It is an excellent excursion for just one day, and an overnight stay helps to get the real experience.

The villagers’ orchards are nationally famous for rare species of 100% organic pomello, rose apple, lychee, mango, coconut and other fruits. Community members’ organic green fingers have made Bang Phlap into a popular field site among Thai and international students to learn about the Thai King’s sufficiency economy philosophy and chemical free agriculture.

Baan Bang Phlap is a study center for chemical free agriculture and self sufficiency life style. Baan Bang Phlap tourism activities revolve around organic agriculture, using no use chemicals of any kinds. This protects the environment and helps to reduce farmers’ production costs by replacing expensive chemical fertilizers with compost manure fertilizer from household waste.
The community wishes to share this knowledge with Thai and foreign visitors. To achieve this goal, the villagers have established their own organisation to manage community-based, eco and agro tourism, and to welcome visitors who wish to explore local ways of life and learn how to put His Majesty the King’s sufficiency economy philosophy into practice.
Now that the project is successful, community members are able to earn a good income from their orchards, tourism and, study tour services and from value-added organic souvenirs, such as fruit charcoals, natural insect repellents, traditional coconut sugar, fish pastes and other snacks.
Baan Bang Plub is the hub of a learning network sharing traditional wisdom inherited from past generations and gained through contemporary experiences in the community. Every Monday at the end of month: members meet, share food, brainstorm ideas and make decisions together.
Bang Phlap is a farming community. People go to bed early and wake up early. The community prefers to welcome guests who are looking for cultural exchange, relaxation, peace and quietness.
