Travel professionals to explore growth-hacking techniques at the 2nd PATA Human Capacity Building Pr

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is all set to stage its second ‘PATA Human Capacity Building Programme’ in the Maldives in November 2018. The event, with the theme ‘Growth Hacking: How to Scale Your Business Exponentially’ is organised in partnership with the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO).

In response to the success of the PATA Human Capacity Building Programme in Maldives on July 12-17, 2017, the second edition of this intensive and interactive training programme is based upon the successful PATA academy-HCD event held at the Association’s Engagement Hub in Bangkok.

Importance of Growth Hacking

“Considered the new identity of marketers in our exponentially growing world, growth hackers are proactive, creative, efficient, successful and focused individuals who experiment and re-work traditional marketing and sales strategies to centre upon growth. With tools that are simply not included in the average marketing degree course, growth hackers tap into new markets, software and the intangible commodities of the online and unexplored world,” said Mario Hardy, CEO, PATA. “Some of the biggest names across various industries have redefined products and distribution to increase their customers’ loyalty, development and retention. Understanding growth hacking is essential for any organisation to stay ahead of its competitors in today’s environment. Simply put, if a company is not growing, it is essentially dying.”

“We are once again very delighted to host another edition of the PATA Human Capacity Building Programme, alongside the Maldives Travel Conference, 2018. One of the most important aspects of the partnership with PATA is that, through these programmes, we benefit from resources and expertise that are otherwise inaccessible to an organisation like ours. At the same time, I believe this is a great opportunity for travel professionals from PATA members countries to visit the destination while taking part in the programme hosted by PATA,” said Abdulla Ghiyaz, President, MATATO.

Participants will gain hands-on experience by working both individually and on team-based projects, where presentations are shared at the end of the programme. From this intensive high-value training, participants will take home practical growth hacking strategies to be applied and implemented in their respective organisations. Participants who have successfully completed the course will be awarded a PATA Human Capacity Building Certificate entitled: “Certified Asia Pacific – Growth Hacking”.

PATA Capacity Building Programme

The PATA Capacity Building Programme is the Association’s in-house/outreach initiative for Human Capital Development (HCD) focused on the tourism industry. Leveraging PATA’s network of talented industry leaders worldwide, the Association designs and implements customised training workshops for diverse organisations including government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGO’s), educational institutions and private sector businesses.

The training is delivered through innovative adult education learning techniques including case studies, group exercises, group discussions and instructor presentations. The facilitators bring knowledge, experience and expertise from a wide range of business sectors and draw from PATA’s extensive and established network in the tourism industry and beyond.

PATA designs and coordinates the workshop, providing experts who will lead and moderate exchanges among participants and offer their own perspectives and experiences. The workshop content and agenda, including the ideal profile and number of participants, are developed by PATA in close collaboration with the lead institution or organisation.
