52% of Indian Travellers Plan Things-to-do before Booking Flights or Hotels, Reveals Klook’s Survey

The traditional travel-booking process usually starts with flights, then accommodations and, finally, things-to-do in the destination of choice. But according to the latest data from Klook’s survey, travelers’ decision-making patterns are shifting.

The independently conducted survey discovered that the majority of travelers now decide on in-destination activities before flights and hotels. According to the report, 52% of Indian travelers surveyed said they planned to attend an event or activity in a destination, prior to booking flights and accommodations. The data also found that 67% of travelers from Thailand and 65% from Singapore are more likely to plan things to do before booking hotels and flights.

Klook’s 2018 events survey was conducted in August and September 2018 via an independent research company in 12 markets worldwide, including Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam. It surveyed 2,400 respondents who had traveled abroad within the past 12 months.
