Ginger has recently announced the signing of its first hotel in Srinagar in the North Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. Famed for its snow-capped mountains surrounding the serene Dal Lake, Srinagar is a key leisure market and has been a popular destination on the global traveller’s list.
Deepika Rao, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ginger, said, “We are happy to partner with Habib Ullah Mir to develop this hotel in Srinagar. This will be our second hotel in Jammu & Kashmir, after Ginger, Katra.” Ginger, Srinagar, will have 64 comfortable rooms, including 9 suites, offering a seamless stay experience for guests. It will also have an all day diner. The hotel is located at Barzulla, and is a comfortable drive from the airport and key tourist spots like Dal Lake, Shalimar Bagh, Pari Mahal, Shankaracharya Temple and Jama Masjid. The hotel is a management contract and is slated to commence operations in 2019.
Srinagar lies in the Kashmir valley on the banks of the river Jhelum and is known for its vast expanses of greenery, waterfronts and houseboats. It is also the state’s summer capital. With the addition of this hotel, The Indian Hotels Company Limited will have 4 hotels across its brands Vivanta and Ginger in Jammu & Kashmir.
