Singapore Tourism Board to ignite passion for art with St+art at India Singapore Weekender in New De

The Singapore Tourism Board continues to bring the 'Passion Made Possible' brand to life in India, this time, with a series of engaging activities at the Singapore Weekender in Delhi.

As part of the second phase promotions of the brand, the STB has partnered with the St+art India Foundation for a three-day experiential festival, which will be held in Delhi from February 15 to February 17 2019 at Lodhi Colony, Kona, and AntiSocial outlet at Hauz Khas.

The Singapore Weekender

Since the launch of the Passion Made Possible brand, the STB has embarked on a series of marketing campaigns and activations to showcase Singapore’s passions and talents through storytelling, and to allow visitors to discover a deeper side to Singapore as a destination. This year, the STB, in collaboration with the St+art India Foundation, will launch a special project titled “Singapore Weekender” as part of the St+art Delhi 2019.

Chee Pey Chang, Assistant Chief Executive (International Group), STB said, “Singapore and India share long and deep connections on many fronts. India continues to be the third largest source market for tourist arrivals into Singapore. We want to continue enticing travellers from India with a storytelling approach for our brand “Passion Made Possible”. Singapore has a rich art, culture and music scene that we wanted to bring to the fore, and our artists at the Singapore Weekender will help bring a glimpse of this to the Indian audience.”

The founders of St+art said: “For the second year of this unique collaboration with STB, we are bringing the artists of Singapore to India. Each of them is passionate in making a difference and contributing to the changing face of South Asian art by pushing the boundaries in fields like AR, visual mapping, multimedia installations and murals.”

Lodhi Art District

The Lodhi Art District will feature a special Singapore Lane, where Singapore artists will be part of the transformation of walls between Khan market and Meherchand Market into a public art gallery of wall murals. The exciting line-up includes artists such as Sam Lo, Yip Yew Chong, Yok and Sheryo, installation artistTan Xi Zi, new media artists Brandon Tay and photographic artist Eugene Soh.

F(r)iction at Kona

Atypical Singapore, an art and augmented reality (AR) technology showcase, is part of STB’s Passion Made Possible latest wave of global campaign. As part of the showcase, Khairuddin Hori, curatorial director and partner of Chan+Hori Contemporary, has handpicked seven contemporary artists with different specialisations, ranging from performance art, sculptures, painting, gif animation, video art to AR effects.
