Eight Norwegian restaurants make it to the Michelin

Eight Norwegian restaurants were included amongst the crème de la crème when the best Nordic eateries according to the Michelin Guide were revealed in Denmark. This means that foodies have even more reasons to go and taste Norway in 2019.

The city of Trondheim, with barely 180.00 inhabitants, received its first stars ever, thanks to Credo and Fagn.

Credo’s Heidi Bjerkan became the first female Norwegian chef to receive a star and also won the first ever Michelin Nordic Guide Sustainability Award. Heidi has been championing sustainability for years, said International Director of the Michelin guides, Gwendal Poullennec, from the stage in Aarhus.

Heidi Bjerkan from Credo and Jonas Nåvik from Fagn are great ambassadors for the Trøndelag region and its food culture, from farmlands all the way to the gourmet table. According to Credo’s website, Heidi is passionate about raising awareness of our food systems, improving land use practices and preserving the traditional food cultures of the region.

At the very top of the Michelin list we still find Oslo-based Maaemo with three stars.
