Crowne Plaza Greater Noida has kicked off the festive month with a unique initiative this year. The hotel has curated and installed a ‘SustainablTree’, a 14 feet Christmas tree installation made entirely of recycled material.
On Friday, December 7, Crowne Plaza Greater Noida unveiled a first-of-its-kind Christmas installation made entirely of recycled waste from the hotel including beer bottles, metal and plyboard. More than 2,000 beer bottles, 350kg of scrap metal and nearly 480 sq.ft. of old floor boards were used to erect a 14 feet high installation, standing tall at the hotel lobby.
The installation was conceptualised by General Manager Ashwani Nayar and brought to reality by the hotel’s very able engineering team headed by Chief Engineer Mukesh Sharma. Crowne Plaza Greater Noida also hosted a Xmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to unveil the 'SustainablTree'. On the occasion Ashwani Nayar said, ‘This is no less than an engineering marvel created by our team and we are proud of this initiative. This further strengthens our focus and commitment towards green and sustainable initiatives at the hotel.’
The installation, completed overnight, took close to 12 hours and weighs nearly 800 kgs. Hotel’s Tree Lighting ceremony was a fun affair complete with carols, mulled wine, canapes and a visit by Santa himself.
