Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel is now offering a new culinary experience in the Disneyland Resort District dining scene — Hanagi, Japanese Restaurant. Joining Hanagi Sapparo, and Hanagi Guam, the restaurant is the first location in the mainland U.S. Serving lunch and dinner the restaurant offers a range of authentic Japanese cuisine including Shabu Shabu hotpot, sushi, and sashimi.
Chef Hiroyuki Ikeda, “Chef Hiro,” was charged with bringing the Hanagi experience to the U.S., by Premier Hotel Group, the hospitality group behind Anaheim Majestic Garden and the other two Hanagi locations. Trained in Tokyo, Chef Hiro crafted Hanagi’s menu to include a wide range of popular Asian choices. Each Hanagi location has a menu to reflect not only the Hanagi brand but the destination. In translation, Hanagi means castle flower, a fitting moniker for the “castle” hotel.
“We are looking forward to providing the Hanagi experience to not only our hotel guests but also the greater Orange County dining audience,” Ikeda said. “Guests will find an on-trend Japanese dining experience at Hanagi, with options for the whole family.”
Diners can experience starters like the Tricolor Sashimi Carpaccio, tuna, salmon, and albacore carpaccio, topped with thin-sliced vegetables and yuzu-pepper, or the Kurobuta pork Shabu Shabu salad with thin-sliced black pork loin. Beyond the full sushi bar and Shabu Shabu options, the menu includes entrees like American Wagyu Garlic Steak, and bowl and bento box choices, including the Chirashi Sushi bowl. Children will be enchanted by the kid’s curry complete with a rice panda bear. The restaurant also offers a full range of Japanese beers and sake.
Restaurant décor is a contemporary Japanese style with clean modern lines, elements from nature, and an abundance of natural wood. Partitioned table areas create a sense of space and privacy for guests.
Validated parking is available for restaurant guests and reservations can be made via OpenTable. Hanagi is now open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Hanagi is in addition to the hotel’s Garden Court Bistro, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the resort’s California Deli.
